The only update I have is there still working on it they phoned me last week
Okay, thanks for the answer.

Still hoping they will release a firmware that supports OverTheAir updates, for radio's that have the WIFI part.

Would be really nice if they could make it so that the radio could stream directly off of the internet with connected wifi

Then it would just be a matter of setting up ITTT to fire up wifi hotspot on the phone whenever it connected to the bluetooth in the car.

WOW......

Can you check for firmware updates online ?

It says "you have the latest firmware", how does it know that ?

Now i am REALLY interested in the firmware version and date in the service menu.

What does the hardware and firmware version say when you enter the service menu.

Never got an answer as to what firmware version you have, with datecode, and how do you get the radio to check if there are newer versions available ? (Wifi, onstar ?)

Found another menu to get that
Great, and how/where was the "You have the latest version installed" menu found ?

I know that in the service menu you show, somewhere else, there is a submenu where you can see the date of the firmware also.

On main screen tap top right hand corner until a box comes up put in this code 20130822 press ok then click back go on settings to the bottom where developer settings think its called then page 3 scrolling down

Okay, i dont have that, probably because my R4.0 has 2015 firmware installed (1.12.5.2)

On the picture of your screen where it says "Software version IP34.5.1(1.34.5.6)" there is an arrow, meaning that if you click that line you get into a submenu, where the datecode is.

On mine it says "1.12.5.1 Jul 31 2015"

What does yours say... The latest date i have seen was a 2017 date (There are multiple lines but on mine atleast all lines have the same datecode, its just different software modules listed)

Also, do you have onstar or was the radio connected via WiFi when you was told that it was "latest version". it must be connected to the internet to be able to know if this version is the latest i would guess.

Sorry for all the questions, im just a curious bugger :D :D

Yes I have OnStar
My radio is playing up right now been in garage nearly 6 times for the radio all they do is update software nothing else if they say that is the latest version on there
Edit: all say Feb 6 2017
