I have a 2016 Astra petrol 1.0T model and the slave cylinder is going at just over 60K miles. Its probably the usual issue but as many others have found out its not covered by any recalls. I have no choice but to replace the clutch and cylinder but this is where the problem occurs, none of the usual parts distributors eurocarparts etc. have it in stock and are unable to get a clutch kit, it would appear that main dealers are the only ones with it in stock at well over twice price of a standard reputable clone part.
I accept that cars will have running costs and the clutch going early is unfortunate, but having to spend ÂŁ1200 for a clutch repair that should cost ÂŁ5-600 at most is ridiculous. Does anyone have any clever ideas?
