Only way to sort it is to buy a switch from a Corsa E. This will allow you to turn off Auto.

Not ideal but far better than feeling like a wally.

I have had the car six months now and the auto lights are as everyone describes.
I am fed up driving around like a wally with the sun-visor down to shield my eyes from the brilliant sunshine while the headlights are ablaze.
Does anyone know if you can fit a better sensor from another Vauxhall model or even another manufacturer?
Another thing I have noticed is condensation inside the sensor housing.
When a driver has that low sun at the back of him/her and is viewing cars behind through the mirror for a lane change etc, sometimes cars are not seen with the glare of the sun, especially silver cars. The headlights on are seen believe it or believe it not. It protects you from being hit by cars in front not seeing you. Read an artical on it a few years back when I had a silver car.

How easy is this to do please? Straight swap and job done? Or does wiring need changing?

VERY simple job ,just push the switch out from the back, unplug ,plug into new switch and push into place.takes just seconds.

Dead simple, however do realise it only sorts the auto headlights, not the auto dimming of the nav screen.

I can live with that, it's the fact the headlights don't adjust to the daylight quick enough that's the most annoying for me. I found a topic that said it works, however the leds need changing from red to white. Is this a simple job or does it require soldering?

This sounds plausible, as the lights switched off yesterday in what I would class as dull conditions but with the sun obviously higher in the sky.
It also suggests that the sensor is more sensitive to UV light than visible light.

Re-Corsa light switch, I would check your insurance first.
