I've been looking through the exploded views of this engine,it looks a strange mix of timing chain one end and possibly wet belt for the oil pump drive,
purely out of curiosity i was Just wondering if anyone even has one or had problems with one etc. View attachment 6122 View attachment 6140

The topic is a bit old, but since I recently had a close encounter with this engine, I'll share some experience if anyone is interested.
The problem with the oil pumps is probably inherited from the design of the previous model - the plastic parts inside fail, but it is possible that the reason lies in the pressure regulator, which in this engine model is inside the crankcase and is bathed in oil, as well as the electrical wiring.
In general, due to the damage, the pump blocks, the pulley driven by the wet belt continues to rotate in the pump axis and no other mechanical damage occurs, if the engine is turned off immediately. Of course, there are a lot of chips and no oil pressure.
The wet belt is extremely strong, the one I saw with my own eyes was at 180k km and I did not see any damage to it.
This belt also drives the balancer shaft (18 in the diagram above) and has a special tool to adjust its position relative to the crankshaft (it is in the pictures below). Unlike the older model, the chain guides on this engine were almost like new for these kilometers, and the chain looked very good. It may also have something to do with the 0W20 oil used.
