It's the old conundrum with turbo cars I guess.

That S4 would be one of the supercharged V6s if I recall correctly... Which offers up more "Instant" power when you drop down and it's that change in power that gives you the satisfying Jolt back into your seat

Turbo cars on the other hand, even when dropping down a gear aggressively will have a bit of lag while the turbo spools up which can kinda cushion the jolt which immediately pins you.
Yes the S4 was a supercharged V6.

Not driven a J vxr astrafan , but have been a passenger in one.Its a handful I must admit (well the driver had his work cut out) !
Scrabbling for grip like the old H vxr did as well. But a superb looking vehicle in my eyes. I would look twice at one , I wouldn't look twice at any K's on the road unless highly modified. If you are looking for a performance vehicle at a good price how about a CUPRA Leon ? Later ones come in 280/290/300 bhp.

I won't go diesel as its a dying breed these days but on the other hand don't fancy all electric yet.
My thinking exactly... I'm going to enjoy this last Renaissance of pure petrol engines before they are inevitably curtailed for good within the next decade or so

Totally agree F7GOS you can't beat a good powerful petrol engine with sound to match.
Yesterday an all electric Renault Zoe was reversing from a parking space and nearly ran someone over , maybe the person couldn't hear it or was looking the other way but dangerous nevertheless.

To be correct:
1.6 110hp diesel has 300nM @1750..2000rpm
1.6 200hp petrol has 300nM @ 1650..4500rpm

The Bi-Turbo Diesel has 160ps and 350nm (B16DTR).

Thanks Pompey but I was only asking out of sheer interest, I have no plans to change my baby until she gives up on me completely! (Long time yet fingers crossed!)
