"kettling" noise front end.

Post by Misteron1 » Fri Feb 14, 2020 3:42 pm

1.6 SRI sports tourer 2017 flip chip silver
Have been getting a noise sounding like a muffled fridge being moved, a sort of kettling knocking noise, you can hear it mostly at slow speed over any ground. It can still be heard over the radio and road noise at speed. Went out with tech from the dealer who agreed and said it sounded terrible. They changed the front Anti roll bar drop links, which I have to say took away some noise, so they must have been worn, but this underlying noise is still there. My theory is either the O/S/F damper or the brake servo unit. Any ideas ? I don't think it sounds like an engine mount or any other suspension part.

Hi, vauxhall astra k 1.6CDTI manual - same problem. Last time I enquired the consensus was the engine mount under the gearbox. Let me know how it goes for you as I haven't stumped up for the repair yet.
