Different speedometer design

Post by Timbu » Sun Aug 12, 2018 10:16 pm

I just noticed various Astras have different speedometer designs... Is this something that differs for a specific model? Or a specific year? Or is it based on what Infotainment system you get?

You can see the examples here and here.

In our market (Australia), the speedo/dash on the left is equipped on the base models and the one on the right is equipped on the top spec model

Hi

I can’t see any difference. Both are in kph as they both go up to 270. The mph version goes up to 180.

Cheers

One is diesel and the other one petrol looking at the scale of the revs. Other small differences i can spot is the half circle line around the temp and fuel gauge, and the chrome ring around the speedo and rev counter. Perhaps a MY change?

um... guys... xD

you need to look again. The design is nothing similar. The first one has these silver/red outlines, it has fat font and the numbers follow the round shape turning as the speedometer shape turns.

the second one has a refined font, it has LED background lighting, no silver/red outlines and the font is always facing straight, no matter the position.

that's what i was talking about :)

I have a MY17 1.6t tourer and the speedo of the first picture. So i think the changes only apply to some trim levels.

Do you have a colour or monochrome display?
