Post by Ckell248 » Thu Aug 09, 2018 5:14 pm

Im trying to replace my H7 Bulbs on my Astra, i manage to put them in and connect it up but when i turn the ignition on they start smoking and then you can smell burning. Whats going wrong?

Have you touched the glass of the bulb with dirty fingers? They are not supposed to be touched as even finger grease creates a hot spot and premature bulb failure

Nope, i touched the silver bit only. They were off even so im assuming they could just be crap bulbs but ive always bought these particular bulbs and never had this problem before.

They could be faulty, but a little oil or dirt on them that gets burnt off could be as well.

Smelt stronger than a little dirt burn off. I'll just buy some phillips ones as the ones im taking out are phillips, hopefully that'll sort it.
