Re: The END of ONSTAR
i had been told when i pressed blue button and called onstar that EU will require a emergency assist service after 2020, so this will replace this, i bet that they will offer something like Peugeot Connect, their emergency assist service

Re: The END of ONSTAR
To be honest, Onstar is crap! I have had no end of trouble trouble with it. It now only works when I am in the car with the engine running! I have had a few calls to the help centre, who appear to know what they are doing, at the time, but the next time I use it, sod all works! I could only find my car’s location, if it was stolen, by actually sitting in the car!! A waste of money in my opinion, so in advance of the cessation of the service, I shall be cancelling it forthwith. My next car ( Insignia Grand Sport SRI Nav Vx Line) will not have it enabled. That’s for certain. I love my Astra, but t’aint big enough, so I will let it go with happy memories!
Astra 1.0T ecoflex sri nav. Granite Grey.

That's only valid in new vehicles.Dannyruss1 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 11:10 amEU will require a emergency assist service after 2020, so this will replace this, i bet that they will offer something like Peugeot Connect, their emergency assist service

Re: The END of ONSTAR
At the new orders the cars wont have any of those three buttons installed. Not ever the sim card for gps signal and wifi.
Just purchased the new Mokka X for my wife. In the new order seller told me this.So we cancelled the new order and we found a My18.5 stocked car with the buttons installed.

Re: The END of ONSTAR
VX should offer a blanking unit to replace the 3 buttons after 2020. Its going to look odd selling a second hand car with options that don't work anymore.
Astra SRI Nav, 1.6T lava red , winter pack, parking sensors,18in bi colour alloys, AGR seat, spare wheel.

What do you mean by "sim card for gps signal"?
Also Wi-Fi will not work after the end of OnStar.
You do know that those 3 buttons will have no function soon, right?

Re: The END of ONSTAR
It seems a shame that no one offers a replacement LRU which can re-enable the OnStar WiFi but now using a SIM card.

Re: The END of ONSTAR
1.How do you think that you have Internet on the car, and gps tracking? There is a preinstalled sim card for data and call's somewhere hidden in your car.astramaster wrote: ↑Thu Sep 20, 2018 12:58 pmI'm not sure I totally understand your argument...Corbil wrote: ↑Thu Sep 20, 2018 7:41 amAt the new orders the cars wont have any of those three buttons installed. 2. I know that my friend......
3. I am the one who first open this topic so I know it very well by the time GM sent me the info..... You prefer a car with preinstalled stuff inside or a car without these gadgets that cannot be installed after the purchase?. And what if PSA in the future decide's to buy this feature?
