Show us a picture of the damage. I use a touch up pen for stone chips.

Re: Body panel repsray
I’d just use a touch up pen on that. Don’t rush the job though. Make sure it’s clean and dry. Probably won’t even notice when it’s dry.

Might try that if smart repairs through dealership can't do it

I had something similar on an old black car I had. Just used a touch up pen and a cocktail lstick to apply it. Could not tell the damage was there afterwards.

I use a very fine art brush for touch ups.

Re: Body panel repsray
Funny I should stumble across this post as I just faced a similar dilemma with our White 2017. Driving on sealed country road around 50 - 60kph and work truck came the other way, truck hit pothole and dumped about half a bucket of sharp gravel right in front of the car, we had no time or place to avoid and it rained right up over the bonnet of the car resulting in around 10 serious stone chips up the bonnet,on the "A" pillar and over the front bumper. (This is exactly why I will only buy plain colours in vehicles nowdays) I was not fussed in getting a car with barely 3000Ks on it resprayed (along with coping with the quality and cost of the job). I looked on Youtube and came across this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xi3xme ... L&index=12.
I Got some paint mixed up and got stuck in and am happy enough with the result. In your case being metallic paint makes it a bit tougher but where it's located should make it easier not to notice so much.
Trying to keep a pristine car and use it is a difficult balancing trick, so I feel your pain.

Metallic paint is tougher to scratch. I now got a stone chip of the motorway. I believe they used to coats of paint in factory. I disagree you can see the black underneath.

Based on my experience alone, it's difficult to compare 'like with like'. I had a Deep Sky (metallic) 'J' before this car and it certainly wasn't so easily damaged as my present Astra. As we've discussed so many times before, the paintwork on the 'K' generally doesn't seem to be up to much.
