Many thanks for that. So the strip is the same as in the Astra J. How many led bulbs did you need to buy.

Yes it is the same strip but it doesn't fit , you have to re-shape it using a heat gun and trim it down a bit. Two LED's, one for each side.
I was debating trying an alternative such as this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1W-12V-Car-Ho ... wlCqsWozAA
Essentially all that strip is a fancy Fiber optic tube thing

They are wired to the Yellow (positive) and black (negative) on the cigarette lighter connections . This gives them switched live which fade in and out with the rest of the ambient lighting when the headlights come on/off.

Car looks awesome with the mods you have done!
You have given me a few ideas myself, mainly the lighting type stuff. How did you wire in the footwell leds? I done this mod on my old Civic and the one before that and loved the look of it.

I wired them into an ignition switched live from the fuse box behind the center console using a fuse tap. This means they are on permanently as long as the ignition is on although I do have the option of turning them off and adjusting the brightness , I used one of these:

If I were to do it again, having learnt more about the car, I'd probably go straight into the ambient lighting wiring, so that they come on with the headlights. Alternatively... You could wire them into the dome light so that they come on when the doors are opened.

Picked up my new wheels today. Got them from eBay from an Astra K being broken down for parts. Had them refurbished and finished in ferric grey
Absolutely thrilled with em

And it didn't cost me too much either. Picked the alloys up for £300 for the full set (including a set of really decent tires!) and £250 for the refurb. Hoping to get £350 or there about for my old alloys.
What are peoples opinions... Does it need lowering now?
