Onstar Wifi Hotspot Gone now !!

Hi Lads

I was hoping that I might use Wifi to connect to AA but as Onstar is now gone
would have to resort back to Bluetooth and USB cable to connect up, and
sometimes very iffy to say the least....

Unless somebody knows of another solution

As far as I know you could never connect your phone to Android Auto using WiFi in an Astra, regardless of whether OnStar was there or not, it's always had to be done via a USB cable.

The Astra radio's will never have android auto wireless, maybe the next iteration of the Astra, which will probably be called the "Astra 308" will have it.

For now the best bet is to get AAWireless dongle, this is a dongle that connects to your car's USB socket, and acts as the wireless connection to the phone.

The phone connects to the AAWireless box and the box relays the data.

This way you could get wireless android auto on "any" radio that has wired android auto, but lacks the wireless option.
