Europcar's second attempt at dropping a car off whilst mine is waiting for parts for the recall left me with a Crossland X 1.2 (non-turbo).

Not overly impressed, I would have thought I would have got something equivalent to my car.

Response from Europcar when I queried it is 'tough - take it up with Vauxhall. That's the class of vehicle you have been assigned, we can upgrade you if you want to pay the difference!'.

On the times the Astra has been in I had a Corsa from the dealer, then a GTC from Europcar (I liked that one) and then a Pug 208 (I didn't like that one) from Europcar. The car is in again tomorrow for two days, we'll see what I get but I think it'll be a dealer car this time. My other car (a Megane 2 diesel Convertible) got hit about a year ago and they initally gave me a Hyundai i20 1.2 petrol as a hire car. That went back as soon as I'd driven it home as it was so gutless and I was doing a 120 mile a day commute, and they upgraded it to a Renault Captur 1.5DCi. Not a car I'd buy but it did the job.

U ready for this ?a lime green 66 plate vauxhall viva with all the bodyshop details down the side.(on the passenger seat a red nose, size 18 red doc Martin's and a revolving bow tie) .Someone had driven into the work and left their vehicle with no handbrake on ,scuffed a fair bit of paint from the front bumper of my pride and joy .Most journeys were completed with a balaclava and dark glasses on ,the other disguise chaffed....think yourselves lucky..Bill
Same here , from Vauxhall lyndhurst Hampshire , a Vauxhall viva advertising itself for £99 a month ! So much attention and drivers laughing , probably saying I wouldn't give £9 a month for that lol

I've been given a Corsa 1.4 Sport non-turbo from the dealer this time. While I was booking my car in (not for the recall) someone else was in dropping his diesel one off for stage 1 of the recall, and they'd not sorted him a car out despite wanting the car all day.

Yeah to be fair it's the way of the world now manufacturers using underpinnings of other cars and putting a different frock on it

I like the grandland, big balloon tyres makes for a quiet and comfy ride compared to the 18s on mine

Not to say that vauxhall does not have it's problems with their own cars, but with a chassis, suspension, steering and engine from a Peugeot, you will get all of the problems of french cars to boot.
