OBDLink MX (or elm327), Instrument Cluster, hidden menu

Post by gmprog » Sun Dec 20, 2020 12:54 pm

Hi, Guys
can anyone have a device OBDLink MX?
we want to test the functionality on the Instrument Cluster.
can any of you know how to solder? you can make a device from the cheapest Chinese ELM327 (v1.5, pic18f25k80)

A J2534 device is easier, but all the 2A did service values are already well documented on these clusters for hidden menus.

Great job,👍 would this also work on the 4 inch and 8 inch cluster? (Could you also change VIN?)

I bought a cheap chinese OBD scanner and downloaded CarScanner app.
With total cost of approx 20 eur I can see much more than hidden menus can offer.

All kind of temperatures, throttle pos, boost, fuel related data, speed and acceleration etc. And app logs the data which could be afterwards analyzed.

Here´s a sample of trip form work to home.
