Hello,
Can anyone recommend (without pulling the car to bits) any areas that be accessed easily to install some sound installation.
Got no major concerns but would like to dampen as much road noise as possible.
I am a returning K owner having breiefly owned a A-Class but missed the K so much I had to have another.
Any advice or pictures would be much appreciated.
Basic soundproofing
Re: Basic soundproofing
I was thinking about adding some to the boot, but I think that the wheels have a HIGE effect on the sound.
I swapped to Michelin Primacy 4 (extra load) and the reduction in noise was honestly enormous!

I put some STP BLACK GOLD for vibration-damping in trunk and hood. Trunk made some difference

As said the bottom of the trunk is easily accessible, and also lifting away the back seat is easy and you can install some dampening mat there too. I did some insulation on my ST, if you want to see pics you can check out my intro-thread on the members gallery: https://www.astrakforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5320&p=47937#p47937

Tyres make the biggest difference of anything you can do.
The problem of the non watts link suspension cars is that the rear tyres get louder the more mileage you do so you need to occasionally rotate the tyres if possible to minimize this. +1 primacy 4, I came from horrendous primacy 3's which were probably ok when 1st put on.
