Stealth HID kit

Post by RyanSRi » Wed Jun 12, 2019 6:20 pm

I have my cars first MOT next week and after that's out the way I want to fit a HID kit to replace the standard H7 halogens.

I've looked about online and the Stealth kit looks to be a decent one, has anyone had any experience of this kit?

What colour does anyone with HIDs fitted think is the best, 5000k or 6000k? Looking to try to match the DRLs.

Any thoughts or advice would be great, thanks.

Thanks guys. Does the 5000k have any yellow tint at all? Do either of you have any pics of them fitted?

Any more details? Does the ballast fit inside the dust cover? or did you need to fit it externally?

Thanks,

Ant.

Ballast sits on the cross bar in the engine bay.

The ballasts come with sticky pads

Sticky pads in a warm sometimes humid engine bay, with lots of vibration and oil and other fluids, does not sound ideal to me.

Is it not possible to get them properly secured ?

Funnily enough I had the exact same thoughts for both of those replies!

Does the rear cover of the light cluster need to be drilled to allow the additional cables through?

Anyone care to share any photos?

I’m also considering the 55w version as I live in the sticks. Any thoughts? I’m guessing (as I’ve not actually looked into the headlights (as I’m normally behind the wheel at this point)) that they are the projector type and not the reflector type?
