Holder/Powerflex bar

Post by Astra_k_16 » Sun Nov 04, 2018 11:47 am

I have an Astra Elite which has a Powerflex as standard, as I have an iPhone 8 Plus it’s rather unless as the phone holder doesn’t fit. Even if it did, it’s a naff place to have your phone.
Been looking to get rid of the Powerflex for a holder which would be more useful. The holder is a quiet pittyful with the space available, but I have spotted another holder that’s currently installed on an Astra 1.6 Turbo 2018 plate. It appears Vauxhall have realised how rubbish the previous holder was and changed the design. It now has greater capacity!
Would be good to know if anyone has one and if anyone knows the part number.

I am not sure that you can simply replace the powerflex bar, because the fusebox is placed just behind the bar, so i gues that you also will have to replace the fusebox. That picture you have showen is probadly the new facelifted Astra which doesent have the powerflex bar.

as i browsed opel's webpage...this powerflex is only useful (though absolutely pathetic) for holding your phone or some bullshit fragrance.

Most stupid thing is that you still need to connect the phone from under armrest if you want to use android auto or apple carplay. So stupid.

Eh, I don't mind having it there, I can charge two phones without needing some kind of accessory in the cigarette lighter.

I also avoid huge phones like the plague, which admittedly is getting more and more difficult.

Question is, where has the fuse box gone in the new ones if we've suddenly gained a (actually useful!) storage cubby? :?:

Perhaps the PowerFlex bar is going the way of OnStar...

The fuse box was way behind the powerflex bar, there is ample room for that new storage compartment. Remove the powerflex bar with that tool in the glovebox and youll see.
So i think its still in the same place as it always was.
