Just checked for updates and Google maps was one of many apps updated so I'll check later to see if satellite view is now available. With 4g being widely available on three and with unlimited data on my sim only contract I'm not worried about the extra data usage with satellite View.
Sounds like a good idea, if it's possible, although I haven't done that myself.
I have a massive data allowance on my SIM only deal with EE and so I've never worried about having to do that and the reactivity / response seems to be very good, whether streaming normal maps or satellite view. As I said before, however, I may come to grief in a bad network reception area!
I'm impressed. The traffic speed colours show up much better than in the normal view because of the contrast.
