Inconceivable wrote:Hi all,

Today I had an unfortunate 'incident' when parking my car..

Reversed into a spot, came to a stop, clutch + break pedal down, put car into neutral, activated electric brake.

Lifted foot of clutch, accidentally touched the accelerator pedal whilst doing this and switching off the car.

Stepped out of car and came back to it, the electric brake had disengaged (I think when I did the above) and rolled slowly in to the car in front.

I had a quick word with my dealership and they said this was completely normal for the car to disengage when the clutch is lifted and the accelerator pedal has been tapped, even in neutral!! Just made me concerned for future to be extra careful.

Just wanted to make sure this was the same on everyone's car?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you.

What do you want help with...?

Just leave it in gear as well as putting the hand brake on.

Just wanted to know if this was the same on everyone's Astra K due to not personally knowing anyone with the Astra K.

My friend's and family have other branded cars and they've all told me different things.

Please let me know if this is same on yours?
