Apologies for such a random post, but I didn't realize the Astra had the 'hidden shark'.
I've had Vauxhall's since I passed my driving test 15 years ago. First time I noticed was on the Corsa D on the glovebox hinge, then noticed the adam's cup holder which the Corsa E got too.
So today while cleaning up a Redbull incident I removed the center cup holder and found the shark underneath.
I think it all started with the designers working into production cars without it being noticed and it's been carried on since.
Just done some digging the shark was a bet by the opel engineers to see if they could put a shark in there design. Was 1st used in the Corsa. You can Google this. And it been a tradition ever since. Most have two. Just because you discover it. It's not new I'm afraid
Makes a change from the customary spider - every Astra I've had over the years had a spider living in it that would unexpectedly abseil down the windscreen.
