I think the rusty look of calipers are mainly due to metal particles from the brake discs that is dislodged under braking and getting stuck onto the caliper and then rust.

Personally i would atleast have had the wheel off, and given the caliper a good rinse with a power washer to make sure that all metal and brake disc particles where completely gone, before applying the paint.

Nice mate they look brand new I'm going to do the same not decided on a colour yet but will be using the same kit from ecp, I'm planning to take the wheel off and do it, you must have some patients, I always rules out the silver but seeing it yours it is giving my food for thought
I take it you just painted on to the rust
I did not seem to have any rust on the Callipers. There was some brown water mark staining which looked like rust marks.
I just ensured the Callipers were as clean and debri free on the surface as possible before applying the paint.

I did think about painting the Callipers in a different colour, but I am pleased with how the silver finish turned out. Also I thought if the silver did not look very good it would of been easier to cover the silver with a different finish.

I have attached a photo showing one of the Callipers before being painted.
That's exactly how mine look I just assumed it was rust how did you clean them,im up not sure I want to use a copper wire brush on aluminium, would korrosel be good to use on the calipers
