Piano Black Interior Trim Film Marks Removed.

Post by Nev The Bear » Thu Jul 16, 2020 8:53 pm

Some of the Piano Black Interior Trim Panels in my SRI had a sort of film on them almost looked dull and foggy.

Today I tried a small amount of Meguairs Plast X headlight restorer on a microfibre cloth and it removed the film marks and brought the panels back to looking like new.

Done the same job last week, look brand new again. Surprising how much dirt was on the applicator.

Hi,

The B and C pillars are a soft plastic. Mine were heavily scratched from washing when I bought the car so I used a DA polisher with a compound to get out the scratches.

This makes it silky smooth, but really quite dull.

Then I used what I think is a good polish to make it shiny again. Just added more and more water to lube it up until it was shiny again.

Took 30mins, but was worth it.

If you got a decent filler wax or polish, the kind that you buy from Halfords, this will fill in the scratches and make it look great again without the work. But when the wax washes off it will look scratched again.

I hate on the new cars how they use soft plastic where you touch the door to open and close it. Bound to get marred and scratched!

Old housemate had a local company put a wrap on his when he bought his new car to stop it happening.

Best of luck!
