Dashboard clean?

Post by Phill11318 » Tue Aug 08, 2017 2:30 pm

Could anyone help me out on what to clean the dashboard with, and a silly question of what material it is? Cheers :D

I don't use any chemicals on the dash, I just use a microfiber cloth to dust it off

I hate those chemicals that make it look shiny and sticky, doesn't give it a factory look in my opinion :)

I agree mate, I keep a micro fibre cloth in the car and just dust when it's needed. I'll never use glossy products on it, but would use a good product once in a while, but not really sure what sort of material the dash is.

I agree - no glossy products - just dust it off.

I might use a bit of warm water (damp cloth) or the autoglym interior shampoo is pretty good and doesn't leave a residue, if there are marks that need lifting.

I'm a whore for Autoglym products and I use their Vinyl and Rubber Care on the dash. It can produce both a glossy and matt finish depending on the way you apply it. It's also supposed to protect against fading and cracking of the plastic.

yes I like the Vinyl and rubber care too. I use it on my rubber mats. I did try it on my dash by spraying it on a microfiber cloth and then applying to the dash but it still gave a bit of a glossy finish which I didn't like much so tend to stick with just a dry microfiber now :?

Have you tried Innerclean by Chemical Guys? It's great for interiors as it cleans thoroughly but doesn't make surfaces shiny. It also leaves a fresh clean scent.
