What did you notice on the Dayton about the factory eq curve when set to flat on the head unit, is the bass exaggerated at lower volumes but cut at higher volumes and does the Dayton keep the eq you have set at different volume levels?

I did not notice any dynamic EQ settings on the factory HU that depends on the volume. ( I assume that Dayton is DSP with autocorrect :) )
I think HU only changes volume according to the vehicle speed, but not the EQ.

The DSP does the same, it keeps the same EQ setting in the whole volume range.

I hope I did not misunderstood your question.

I got a helix dsp and now see exactly what you mean about the factory eq, the Helix was able analyse it and let me adjust via input eq.

So there is absolutely no bass going to the rear speakers, so anyone tapping for a subwoofer should definitely tap the front speakers! which actually seem to get a decent bass signal at all levels.

The problem with the fronts is a massive dip in the signal at around 500Hz and then a spike in the highs.

This is an awesome guide and my first time replying. I am planning to do this amp install diy, I couldn’t see where you tapped the remote wire, could you give some pointers on where to tap the remote wire so that the amp doesn’t drain the battery.

If you are using high level input on your amp you probably do not need a remote turn on as it should have signal sense turn on off.

When I was using a remote turn on, I tapped one of the fuses in the center console for this.

I’m planning on putting high level to a DSP, then to a 4ch amp and another mono block. Definitely think I need remote. Anyone knows exactly where is the easiest spot to tap the remote accessory wire? Preferably with picture :)

I’m on a 2017 astra k sport tourer 1.0
