New to all this, just wondering if it's possible to add the winter pack to an astra.
I've picked mine up Sri, its the first car I've had in a while without heated seats wheel etc.
Is it possible to get these fitted from my local stealer
Cheers

If they're willing to do it, it would be extremely expesive as it would require changing the seats and steering wheel completely for a heated ones. Then they'd need to add the control buttons and program the functionality to the car, so I'd say its probably a no-go...

Change seats, change the steering wheel, change the climate control panel, run additional wires to seats.

And....VCI coding to enable these things.

Doable but very expensive.....Oh and doable depends on whether Vauxhall will release the VCI codes needed.

Anything can be done, but be prepared to get very little change from a few thousand £££s.

On new cars it's often cheaper to just get the options you want from the beginning instead of having to retrofit it.

In many cases functions rely partly or fully on software, and this is locked down good.

On my job, we have a printer that can print on credit card sized plastic cards.

We got a new one that could do double side printing....Also we got one exactly like it that for some reason only did one side printing.

Upon examining what the difference was, i found out that all i needed to make it print double side, was a hardware activation key....This key would be inserted into a slot in the printer for 3 seconds and then removed and hey presto, this was not a dual side printer.

Price for the key .... ~£250

With such an expensive key, they have undoubtedly protected the activation mechanism very good, as to not have people just activate it themselves for free.

It's the same with cars....they have introduced VCI codes where there is a seperate code for every function and every VIN...Only the central server has them and if you want them, you need to pay.

A local specialist can modify my original seats into heated seats with heating control on the bottom side of the seats, looks like the option for me, plus a set of gloves.

Sounds to me like some aftermarket retrofit, not "original" feel and controls.
