Removing the instrument bezel

Post by Crunchynut » Wed Jan 17, 2018 7:26 pm

Hi,

I've got a lot of rattles from the bezel that surrounds the instruments (driver display, spedo and rev counter, fuel and temp).

How is it removed so I can silence them?

Very Simple.

1. Remove the plastic trim either side (usually piano black), they are just clipped in.
2. Remove the top part of the steering cowling, again just clipped in.
3. This will expose 2x 7mm bolts.
4. Pull and the clips will release from the top.

I've got the same issue. I've used self adhesive Tesa foam to isolate instrument panel from surrounding plastics, but it didn't heal all of the noises. I've found out some noise is coming from inside of the instruments. Tried to separate plastic back cover from circuit board and frame, but it's still not OK.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
