Hi guys,

just bought https://70mai.store/products/70mai-a800-4k-dash-cam with additional rear cam and hardware kit.

I was planning to follow installation from 1st post.

Hardware kit has 3 wires:
  • gnd- the that's clear to me
  • vcc+ need's to be wired to long term electric fuse, which one?
  • acc need's to be wired to electric fuse for ignition, which one?

Hi all, my Astra K, when I hook up the fuse 31 for the rear wiper... The Nextbase Cam only comes on when the rear wiper is turned ON... So, of course I'm not going to drive around all the time like that. What's another fuse to use, as the rest seem to be on all the time???

Guessing this is some sort of spam excuse to post a link to the dashcam coz you have literally just posted the fuse list that includes “ignition”?!
🤨

That was not my intention. I don't understand those things that's why I asked.

So yellow one (acc) could be connected to "26 Ignition switch/Steering column lock", any idea for red one (vcc+)

In that case welcome to the forum.

What your dash cam wants is a wire to let it know when the car is on and being used by yourself.
You could use a number of fuses, such as the rear wiper, I used the infotainment one.
This will only provide the dash cam power when the car is in use by you.
Wiper is when the ignition is on only and off when ignition is off, but the infotainment comes on with unlock the car (or possibly put the key in the ignition barrel) and then turns off when the drivers door is opened open after engine off - I used it simply so the camera is booted by the time I drive away and on until I get out of the car just like the radio.

Then the camera wants a solid source of power.

There are a few places you could get that, I would imagine the alarm or key remote would be good, but I have never tested them as i didn’t choose to wire it in permanently. It shouldn’t damage anything if you get it wrong, so could be worth trying it in a couple just to check the behaviour is as expected.

Hope this helps.

Also as the forum mentioned in the past, be weary of airbags! That was a good point by whom ever made it!
