Here is a photo of the bcm and there appears to be a black hard plastic hose where the red arrow has been marked. I think this maybe the rear wash wipe hose not certain though.

There also appears to be a joint slightly above the red arrow head, maybe wrong though.

This is probably the opening cable for the bonnet

I thought of that but the bonnet opening cable wouldn't come down that low, as the operating handle is higher up. The pipe in the picture is directed towards the back of the car at the bottom and on rhd cars the bonnet handle is on the other side of the car. To me there is clearly a joint in that pipe and I believe car manufacturer's use hard ridged pipe within the cars cabin.

Looking at it's position again you may be correct and it could be the bonnet release cable. Hopefully the hose position will be clarified eventually.

I have had a quick look under the dash around the bcm location, without removing any components such as the glovebox. The rear washer corrugated hose appears to run with a wiring loom going along the floor of the vehicle. So presumably the leak is somewhere around there. Within the purple ring I have added for clarification.

So at long last the car is at the main dealer. Vauxhall are paying in full for a new replacement Body Control Module and also the repair kit to the fix rear screen wash pipe which had split and leaked all over it so that's saved me over £700. I will ask the technician when I pick the car up what he thinks the cause of the split pipe was due to.

Good result.
Did you have a hard task getting vauxhall to pay for it?

No not really, I explained to the Service Advisor what had happened and he put the case to them and within 24 hours they agreed to pay for all of it.
Their diagnostics showed that there was no signal out of the BCM when a signal into it demanded slow or intermittent wipe. Strangely though, the fast wipe position worked ok but at slow speed. The BCM is on back order from Germany and will take about a week to arrive but that's no big deal as I've been using the wifes car for the last 3 months anyway.

These must be the type of repair kits they use depending how much of the corrugated hose is damaged.

Yes I think you’re right but don’t you think routing a pipe carrying fluid through an electrical wiring loom next to a very expensive control module is very unwise. How did that get through a design review meeting assuming they have them, or maybe if you’re a cynic, it was it done deliberately?
