It's worth remembering that you should only get a diesel if you're doing a decent amount of motorway/dual carriageway driving. Mostly city driving in a diesel will lead to crap MPG along with potential issues if you don't clear the DPF often enough.

I've only done round town and a few A roads so far in the petrol though so a Diesel won't be worse than 35 mpg.

Same here. On my motorway journey, the computer was reading similar. I haven't calculated manually but it's definitely an improvement on my 1.4 Corsa D. Over 2000 miles now

Mines showing between 40-45 mpg on the display as well. Not what's going in the tank though. The app is showing 32mog so more accurate.

I'm going to start using the fuelio app for android again and calculate manually over the next couple of months and see what the true value is.

I think if you are getting 35mpg you should be happy...not exactly a slow car

It's not what I would call fast either and feels like it's misfiring until 4k when the turbo comes in! Had faster cars that sounded much nicer too that weren't far off what the Astra's returning. My old Vr6 Golf was a 2.8ltr and would do 35 mpg if you took it easy. It's also advertised as returning over 50mpg so would expect it to be over 40 at least.

This is my current Lifetime & Trip A MPG. Trip A MPG after recent trip was over 55MPG but had to move the car from it's parked spot so it lost a bit. It seems about right for the car honestly in real world driving. I even had sat nav on, A/C on and used Sport Switch on occasion. Fuel used was Shell Normal Unleaded. As you can see though, I had the car in November 2015 and have had a recent Oil & Filter change. This has certainly improved my MPG figures after the oil change. I changed it when I hit around 50% Oil Life left as I wanted to see if any improvements were made. I was getting about 35MPG before the Oil Change.

I know what you mean there. It gets better as it warms up but it's a bit of an odd sensation to begin with. I do think it feels quick however.

These are mine at the moment which I am pleased with. Do you have your tyres on the eco pressures?

Trip A is 400 miles of motorway driving and about 100 miles of A road/town driving
