New coil springs but now sitting low at front

Post by Johnny00 » Fri Nov 16, 2018 9:54 am

My Daughter has had new coil springs fitted to her 58 Astra 1.7 cdti eco estate by her local diy mechanic. The car now sits quite low at the front, it looks a bit too close to the tyres for comfort.

The mechanic insists that he has fitted the correct springs recommended by his supplier. Any thoughts?

Definitely sounds like the wrong spring load.

Maybe it is the sport springs that is fitted

Could be as the sri was 15mm lower on the H, that coupled with the estate being heavier could cause it.

Thanks to all for your replies.

It would seem obvious that they are the wrong springs but the "mechanic" insists that they are the ones that the suppliers says are correct. Perhaps I need to talk to the supplier.

Thanks again

Could be that they bought springs for petrol rather than diesel car which usually has a heavier motor.
