Some cars only have the collision alert and some have the active braking too.
Mine just has the collision alert. Where just flashes up on dash. So thankfully I don't have the active braking.

If this is true, then i didn't know this!
Makes me wonder if my car has it.

Yeah..i never knew but in the handbook it says collision alert easily disabled then also mentions braking assist (optional)

I had a chat with the service manager and a vaux tec today whilst my car was having a price to get the front wing/bumper clips sorted under warranty. Basically they said this function couldn't be programmed out. So it's a case of switching it off manually everytime you start the car or living with it on the minimum setting. No doubt a new technology we have to live with.
The photo attached is worth a read where basically vaux state within the owners manual that AEB does not always work as it should, in the event of it braking you should firmly press your accelerator pedal down to deactivate it

nice one vaux

Both or just the dash warning light I think.

On mine, in the maIn settings, you can tick one of 3 boxes, off, which I thought might cause insurance problems, alert only, which mine is on, or alert and brake. I got that from my handbook, then someone on here told me how to take it off most sensitive at the steering wheel, had no trouble since.
Mine's a 2017 1.4T sports tourer automatic, SRi trim. Can't see why they's make that bit any different on other spec, unless they don't have front assist, but then you wouldn't have the problem. I'll have another look at mine when I can.

Gap switch to OFF is not a option on mine, the Nav version I have can only be switched off in the main menu on the Radio Info settings, don't know if that is the same for all years.

Thanks for info. I don't have those options.
What was the option prior to this?
Cheers.
