Matrix LED issues, no traffic sign detection...

Post by Icy » Mon Nov 20, 2017 3:31 pm

Hi.

I have problems with matrix led headlights in morning... They dont work right. Blinding oncoming traffic. Even cars in front of me.
From time to time car does not recognize traffic in front of me. Sensor does not work properly.
Sometimes sensor recognize car in front of me and matrix part is working OK. But next second matrix part stops working so flashes full beam to car in front.
The same is with oncoming traffic.
I get flashes from oncoming traffic almost everyday.
Problems began now when its cold.
I suspect mist on sensor... I am not sure.

I can't drive like this. I am nervous.

Also I got warning few times for sensor beign blocked.
Even if its not. This was today in morning (5am). I washed car yesterday so windscreen was clean.

I bought car in April 2017 new. So its my2017.

I cant use matrix part anymore...
Almost regret buying this head lights.
They are great when working but now they work 50% of time..

Sometimes they work OK for half of the journey. Then they even stop switching to full beam unless I turn off the car and back on.

What could be wrong?

Edit: at the moment taking this picture I have turned off auto lights because of the problems...

Why didn't you go to the dealer with it? You've got your answer right there, won't be fixed on the forum sadly.

I will go to dealer next week. I have to do service anyway. So it could be mist/faulty sensor?

I love it. Got it over a year, 34000 miles and no issues.

I had a similar problem with my camera system (not so much of an issue for me as I don't have Intellilux). The dealer sorted it under warranty, not sure what they actually did though.

Yep, have 'Intellilux', but not had the problems Icy's experiencing. If the camera / sensor is clean and not obscured, but the system's still faulty, then it must be a dealer problem to sort out.

As I've said in other posts, even the initial unpredictability of my lights switching on and off seems to have settled down....traffic sign recognition has always worked fairly reliably.

Let us know how you get on...

Agree insofar as I love the system in general, the LED matrix are brilliant (literally!)

However, did you not have any early problems with the sensor failing to turn the lights on and off quickly enough?

Here is picture of sensors... Is this normal?

I guess for matrix lights is, traffic sign recognition is "bigger" one?
On bigger one i saw mist inside it in the morning.
And today was the same. Sensor blocked. Lights not working properly.

Anyway i have to wait till monday for service. Then i will post back if they will sort it out.

Matrix light are operated by the camera. Sensor shown is day/night and rain sensor.
