Slight grind / nic when accelerating in first

Post by chrisfaw » Tue Sep 10, 2019 10:56 am

Hi,

I recently had a new clutch and fly wheel fitted to my astra 1.6 cdti

However after fitting and only occasionally when accelerating in first i could feel and hear a slight grind under the accelerator/clutch only for about a second and only when i was accelerating in a low gear.

I didn't think anything of it, however after 1000 miles the gear box went.

I took it back to the garage who fitted the clutch and fly wheel and mentioned the nic, who said it would of been the gear box and how the m3 gear boxes are poor quality and they are always faulty and I ended up folkingout for a reconditioned box.

I collected the car last week thinking everything must be sorted and the gear box and clutch are tight, But the nick/grind in first is still there. I am now not sure about driving it as I am not sure if that is what caused the gear box to brake.

Any ideas what this slight grind/nic could be?

Chris

Oh no sounds like another expensive trip to the garage.

Could this of caused the gear box to brake.

Can this be down to poor workmanship when fitting a clutch / fly wheel.

Thanks
