Well car was looked at on Friday. It requires new flywheel and clutch. So it’s booked in to get that fitted next week.

Omg. That's horrible. Mine has 36k and so far no issues. Started worry though.

This doesn't say a lot for the Astra K dual mass flywheel longevity - my son in law's Kia sportage ran to 55k miles before it's DMF gave out - and he thought that was bad.

I wish they had kept the twin balanace shafts on the Astra K 1.6 petrol turbo (like the GTC) rather than using a DMF - thats what I thought I had paid for.

Hi
When they have replaced it ask them to let you know the reason you are getting clutch slip.
Could it be oil contamination, clutch friction material failure or the dual mas fly wheel failure.

There have been a few posts regarding the end float on some engines being too much and it has affected the clutch system. I recall it happening to the diesel engine and the 1.4 T engine.

Yeah I’ll ask them how it’s been caused like. I’m interested to know. It’s being covered under warranty luckily. Booked in next Tuesday !

So I cannot accelerate hard as it just slips bad at the moment.
