I had to look at the picture a bit closer to realise that was the case.

The boot lights I have didn't fit, but I ordered new bulbs last night and they should be here today for me to fit before travelling up north.

Regarding the resistor, is it a case of just solder it onto the feed or do you have to cut a bit off?

If you're going for those resistors I linked, they come with wires and connections attached. I cut the wires off so then you just have the bare connections on the resistor. I then soldered a separate short piece of wire on both sides of the resistor to the cluster (one to positive side and one to negative)

Does doing that bypass the normal connections then? Is it as simple as that?

Yes it's as easy as that, I just copied the way Cornishtaz did it and it works fine for me , and easily removable too when it comes to selling the car etc.

I've just had a look at the way it goes together, seems quite simple, the only thing is will it invalidate the warranty? I need to take it in for a condensation claim as I've just found a pool of water in the light.

I would wait until that is sorted before you do soldering... I'm not too sure about the warranty but I wouldn't risk it. I'm sure they'll look for any reason possible to invalidate warranties

Do you have a link to the bee sting aerial? The thread on the one from my Astra H is too small.
