My Astra K SRI

Post by jt123 » Sat May 20, 2017 10:14 pm

I've been a member of this forum for a few months now and read through many discussions and got a tonne of tips and inspiration for mods to do to my Astra K. I figured I'd upload a pic or two now that I completed my last mod on my little list of "to do's" today.

I've listed the mods that I've done to it over the last 9 months for those interested. They are all fairly subtle mods (no racing stripes/wraps or re-sprays just yet  )

- LED Foglight bulbs
- LED Rear Indicators
- White Xenon effect headlight bulbs
- Bee sting Ariel (easier alternative to changing to shark fin)
- Front and rear Heko wind deflectors
- Rear windows tinted
- Retro fitted Steel mate parking sensors front and rear
- Remap (approx 150bhp)
- LED Footwell lights
- All interior lights LED's
- 12v Outlet in the boot
- Second Boot Light
- Twin Exhaust retro fitted
- Powerflex bar/airwellness diffuser retro fitted
- Metal pedals
- Astra Door sill guards
- Towbar (wouldn't choose to have this but needs must)

I really love this car and have no regrets getting it. A few little things irritate me about it but It's a massive upgrade on the Astra J, imho Vauxhall have done a great job with the K and made an awesome car :)

All looks good jt123,

Couple of questions. is the towbar removable? And how does it affect your rear sensors? Did the twin exhausts (not a fake tip, I take it) interfere with towbar fitment?

4 Astra, including current Elite in Emerald Green 1.6CDTi 110

Yes, the towbar is a Witter detachable one. The sensors were fitted after the towbar, the guy that installed my sensors installed a switch so that I can isolate the rear sensors when towing.
The exhaust I only fitted yesterday, it's the twin exhausts from the 1.6 Petrol Turbo , all genuine parts. The towbar could still be fitted although the exhaust would need to be removed first I think :)

The exhaust and trim were £250 from Genuine Parts search. Check this thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2892&p=25945&hilit= ... tip#p25945

Very nice. Love the mods...
Twin exhaust looks great!
Are wind deflectors good?
More pictures (bigger) please! Very nice!
Are there any problems with remapping? I have same engine and i am thinking of rempapping. But i am worried about warranty/problems.
Engine is really good!

Thanks :D The wind deflectors look great, they also allow you to have the windows slightly open when it's raining without the rain all splashing in. My main reason for fitting them was for appearance though.
I had no issues with the remap... it runs great. Gained a nice bit of torque and some BHP too. In terms of the warranty, just get the original map loaded back on before you take it into the main dealership.

I'm not too sure about the plug and play loom but this witter one was £390 from a local towbar company. The bar pulls out and the socket swivels up behind the bumper

I hope that tow bar gets a lot of use, 'cause I reckon I'd feel a bit weird walking around the back of my car when it's all wet and shiny, polishing away and your hand slips down. OMG the lady next door saw me :o (Don't tell me I'm the only one that noticed)
(maybe I'm the most puerile one, that's what my teachers used to say all those years ago)
In all seriousness though I must say your Astra looks hot and features sound great. ;)
