I'm going to change the oil in my car, keep the engine in good state because of all the issues with LSPI on this engine design.

Can anyone tell me the exact grade and GM part number of the oil I need to use please? Want to make sure I get the right stuff. There is plenty of dexos 1 gen 2 oils out there but I think it's probably best to get the genuine stuff...

Dex 1, gen 2 (5w 30), but there was a revision to use 0w 20 oil from 2018 onwards.
Personally I'd be tempted to use the 0w 20 oil, as mine is on an 18 plate, has no gpf, vaux now rec 0w 20 oil to be used on mine.

Do you mean vehicles built from 2018 onwards or it was decided in 2018 that all vehicles (2016 onwards) have 0w20?
