Hi all
I recently bought a second hand Vauxhall Astra K. Soon after I started to get a message on board saying "Engine Power is Reduced". The car will still drive but it moves at a much slower pace and very slowly builds up speed. This usually lasts the length of the journey and can somehow "reset" itself when the car is off and parked while I'm in work. Later on the engine management light will stay on but the power is back to normal.
I've brought it to a mechanic who replaced the accelerator pedal but has made no difference other than on my wallet. Has anyone got a problem like this and been able to sort it? Google says the error code from simple diagnostic kit my brother has "indicates that the Engine Control Module has detected a malfunction within the D and/or E circuits of the throttle position sensor."
