Oil Filter Socket Size?

As I'm (very) soon to be out of warranty and covering fairly high mileage, I'll be doing my own service work.
Has anyone already completed this themselves and can they let me know the socket size required to remove the oil filter housing? If it's 32 or 36mm I'm ok, if it's something else I'll need to do some shopping!

While I'm picking your brains, the size of the socket required to remove the diesel fuel filter housing would be useful for the future too.

Also the change interval for fuel filter, aux belt & tensioner is info I can't seem to find in my book. Anyone know this too?

Thank in advance

For anyone wanting the answer, it is:
Oil filter 24mm
Fuel filter 36mm
Sump plug 15mm or T45. Dealer had over-torqued the sump plug, so I ended up using both to get it free :?

Sorry to Hijack the thread 6 months later, however I'm planning to venture underneath my 1.6 CDTI to do an Oil change in the coming weeks. Did you change the sump plug washer when you did the change? If so, would you happen to know what size/type it is?

You get the feeling that the shops only have one torque setting for their wrenches.

Tighten until knuckles turn white, and the another 45 degrees to make sure everything is solidly fused together.

If anyone doing 10,000 mile oil changes, between stealer intervals, the 1.6CDTi states in the manual 5 litres of oil, inc. filter.

I drained 4.6 litres of oil while leaving the filter in place so 4.6 litres back in.

Car hasn't had it's 1st "official" service yet so left original filter so the stealers are none the wiser when it goes in at 20,000 ;)
