Just be aware that when it comes to battery change time to buy a Yausa at about £550.

Do not be tempted to go to Halfords.

Get the battery changed by Vertu/Vx or a proper garage and get the real macoy - same as the original one.

The battery needs to be coded to the car by arcane use of steering and window buttons to work.

Sorry @Finston Pickle you've lost me, 🤷‍♂️
Yuasa YBX9115 battery as fitted in my 1.0t s/s is currently £150 delivered from Tanya batteries,
the battery isn't coded to the car in any way at all,
sometimes you have to do a one touch window reset after a battery change but that's it

Yes, you have got it. New battery, then it needs to be coded to the car. Mine is a 1.6, so different battery.

@Finston Pickle
Are you quite sure about that?

As far as I can see, the only two connections to the battery are the positive and negative power terminals - so how does the car know what type of battery has been installed, provided it is 12 volts?

Yes it's nonsense,
i wonder if a garage has been spinning some b/s to him to justify fitting a battery @ £550 ?

I wonder what the Vx/Vertu position in on changing the battery?

I am happy with my second battery which was as per the original one and fitted by Central Garage in my town for abour £170.
