Really doubt that would cause any issues. Also,if it's only just been changed the level could drop slightly if there's air still in the system.

🤣🤣 Sorry just a bit OCD where my motors concerned!!

 

Just got home and had a better look with the car dead level in the garage.
It appears that it's a good 3-4mm over the max mark
I provided my own oil and when Ive looked at the container there's about half a litre left which suggests it's been overfilled by about 500ml.
Is this still acceptable as far as any damage to the engine is concerned??

 

3-4mm is absolutely fine,it will not cause any issues at all and is not worth worrying about.I dont think 3-4 mm would equate to 500ml though,it would definitely be less.

 

There's definitely only about half a litre left in the can (unless some was spilt)
Managed to get a pic where it is on the dipstick now

 

Just loosen your sump plug till it starts coming out and drain off a litre or so, tighten and then check your level and fill if needed.

 

Called in at the garage that did the change this morning and they drained nearly a litre out.
Used them for years for odd jobs and there sound.
The owner was very apologetic and kicked the backside of the young lad that had done it, even though I said it wasn't nessasary as we all make mistakes 🤣
