I have just returned from a 2 week trip around Ireland and covered 1432 miles with 2 adults 2 heavy cases + fishing gear etc.and returned a true overall fuel consumption of 49.6 mpg.I am very happy with this and this engine is so capable on longer journeys. It cruises along absolutely effortlessly and consumed no oil at all, brilliant.

That's a good result Alan. I'm not surprised though as my ST did nearly 47 to the gallon on a 260 mile round-trip to my lads and back a few weeks ago. They really are a good motor. (y)

Would love a 1.6t but know full well if I swapped the 1.6 cdti for one I would enjoy the loud pedal too much and get half your mpg!
And I can’t afford that with the cost of fuel atm 😬

64.2mpg it my current real average, but thats with 40% less power then you lot get to enjoy! 😝
And each time I pass a fuel station and see the cost my right foot feels a heck of a lot lighter the following few miles… 😂😂
