1.6t recall

I have just received the recall letter. I'd posted previously (link) about my first MoT at the local council depot which just passed by a very slim margin. I took it back to the dealer and they checked it over and found nothing wrong, and the emissions test printouts showed no issue. The 2nd MoT last year passed, but I didn't get the emission sheet which had been "lost".

It is booked in for the recall and the MoT on the same day, so we'll see what happens. I expect the new software will just change the fueling maps at idle which should have very little effect on drivability. Hopefully it will improve the transition between coasting and accelerating as I found mine a bit jerky at times.

Mine uses Esso Spreme+99 (which is ethanol free in my part of the UK) 90% of the time, although have used Tesco Momentum99 (E5) the rest of the time when the Esso stuff wasn't available.
I got the letter this morning about uploading a modified ECU calibration. I hope it doesn't make the car slower, but I doubt it'll do too much. I use Esso supreme as well, it lasts a bit longer I find until I next need to fill up.
