Re: Radio interference

Yes just remove the middle plastic clip at the back and you will see the 10mm bolt, no need to torque as the metal 4 legged clamp locates and slides up the plastic fitting as you tighten the bolt up until you can't tighten it anymore. I have no sign of a water leak since I changed it and we have ha...

Re: New recall

Hi Astraowner, Vauxhall dealer informed me today that Warranty on new parts fitted to cars runs with balance of warranty on the car. Mine was 33 months old when the car was called for the recall, this left me effectively with a balance of 3 Months warranty on the recall parts fitted!!! It puzzles m...

Re: Radio interference

Yes the amplifier is in the base unit, mine non gps has 2 connections. It is easy enough to do just pullout the middle button on the headlining and you can see the10mm clamping bolt, unclip the 2 connectors and undo the bolt and it lifts out. The hole is square so no worrys about lining the unit up...

Re: Surprise features

Don't actually know if it is a feature or my imagination but have noticed a few times on the motorway if I'm creeping up behind someone with no accelerator input it almost feels as if the car is gently braking. I don't have adaptive cruise and this occurs when driving manually. By creeping I mean I...

Re: Astra k 1.4T VVT solenoid issue

So the interesting question now would be.

Does this new oil solve the chain chatter that the 1.6 diesels have at startup and sometimes at idle ?

Just the base, the stub is sold seperately.
So you changed the base ?

Was that difficult.

Does it have an antenna amplifier in the base ? (Is there other wires going to the base, other than the antenna lead ?)

Bought a new roof aerial from the local VX dealer £72 with the owners club discount, fitted it yesterday all working fine again.
Regards
Greg
Did you buy a new aerial complete with the base or just the screw off stub ?

Re: Astra k 1.4T VVT solenoid issue

Did you replace the valve that was reporting as bad, first on the exhaust and since on the intake ?

If not, that would be the obvious first choice.
