Re: Merger

Speaking of agile competitors, watch MG with its manufacturing base up and running again.

An MG5 estate electric for £22k, 0-60 in 7 sec and a long range, good handling and plenty of supply - a strong possibility.

Re: Hello Everyone

VX were pushing 1.6 petrol turbo Sports Tourers for £16 k new a couple of years ago.

I guess they must be a good bet - I don't think they were highly specced, just base SRI etc. - but stil a well equipped, good basic car.

Re: PLEASE HELP! All sorts of problems!

Strange how the problems were fewer and easier to solve before "digital" promised so much and was adopted by all manufacturers.

I guess you have to go back to them, ultimately - so good for thheir business.

Re: Can you beat this MPG?

I think that the Sports Tourers gets such good mileage because they are so slippery throught the air - with a CD of 0.24, I read somewhere. I could never get over the 146 mph potential top speed either.

No wonder the ST beats a 3-400kg heavier SUV, which has a CD of 0.35, on mileage.

Re: Lane assist not working

I never switched this system on and I can't say I have misssed the feature. However, I do sometimes think how impossible it must be, at important times, for this system to work, given the worn out and overwritten road markings nowadays. At least it gets the car insurance rating down, so I like havin...

Re: astra k 1.6 petrol reliability

I think that this car has definately got ot be a keeper - unless you want to go part/full electric, for whatever reason.

There is nothing to touch it - unless you wish to pay the price of alternetives.
