Re: Best tyres for low road noise

The last time I had Michelin tyres they wore really well but made a weird, loud slowing turbine noise and vibration when coming to a halt - really loud. I vowed never to have Michelin again - but that was many years ago. Looking at the winter temperatures over the last few years and if you were to d...

Re: Best tyres for low road noise

Yes, surprisingly perhaps, the Goodyear efficient grip 2 won the Auto express best tyre of the year award. Surprisogly efficient (low rolling resistance), low noise, good wet/dry handling and braking - top or near in every category - who would have thought it! - no summer downside. Winter, perhaps? ...

Thanks Redman.

Are the ABS sensors powered from the car electrics? I thought that they were.

Re: Service ESC - Astra K 1.6T 2017

Out of interest, Redman:

How do we ensure that these batteries that last 3/4 years are replaced at service?

Does this also a apply to the TPMS batteries? Anything else?

Ticking timebomb???

Re: Scared about LSPI

I totally agree with Shaky. Its not a good idea to lug at low revs with at low or anything like full throttle. I like to never run at less than 2,000 rpm, unless in a low gear or on the overrun. This does not seem to affect economy, which is 45 mpg since new. Also, always use premium fuel - it has b...

Does the Astra K ST live on?

Has anyone spotted the close relationship between the about the soon to be released MG 5 estate and the Astra K Sports Tourer? Seemingly, a quite close cousin. Also - No road tax, 55 kW hours battery, 216 miles range and 0-60 mph in 7.7 secs, all for < £24K - if it has the watts linkages, I could be...

Re: Would you buy an Astra K again?

1.6 petrol turbo automatics never came to the UK - otherwise I would probably have one. I think that I will run my 1.6 ST into the ground, it is so good. I can't think of any new car now that could match it at the price point that it sold for. You would have to have spent another 6k or so, 10k if it...

Re: Fit Insignia Twin Horn

Do they both use the same plug/socket combo?

Any idea what the plug/socket is thet is used (so I can make an extension loom)?

Does the bus system accept the new horn OK?
