Re: The END of ONSTAR

Replaced my 2016 model with a 2018.5 and that's the one item I miss getting emails showing my cars infomation on oil life, tyre pressure etc, The system had a built in tracker that my friend found useful for finding his stolen car and was able to stop it from being moved whilst the police traced it.

I have a pair of corner triangular extensions that are fitted to the 2018 onwards, I changed my car and these are no longer needed as the new car came fitted with them

Re: Engine Problem

Seems they have an issue with pistons melting on the petrol turbo engine's. Under warranty the whole engine is being changed, But three weeks out of warranty a good deed would a replacement Free of charge. I would suggest to get them to service it when needed to maintain a service record.

Lower suspension brace

On the MK 6 J series astra GTC you can buy a lower suspension brace from eBay priced at £32 posted, I was wondering if anybody know's the pitch between the tapped holes on the J series compared to those on a K series, If they are the same then you have a cheap mod. I use a sump guard to go marshalli...

Re: Roof bars

The hatch back only has 4 mounting holes, These are hidden when the doors are closed, So what's changed or has the part number changed to get a price increase without stating. I use a non vauxhall type made by farad, It works by using the holes, With a dowel inserted rather than a screw, Fine for lo...

Re: 2019MY Updates

Peugeot is replacing the engine package to that of it's own making, It pays GM to use the original engine packages and I presume to do so a new revised sub frame would be needed and the brunt of the savings would have to be made to cover those costs.

Re: Wheel bolt caps

Why not paint them, Dealerships have the valets use acid based cleaners as they clean the wheels quicker for a fast turn around, But it stains the caps, Painting then clear coat gives them a good protection, Also winter salt does the same in staining the caps, Next service visit remove them before t...

Re: The beauty of OnStar

The onstar system works well if the car is stolen, A friend had is 1.4T stolen when the house was burgled, The thief made off with the car and goods, The car was tracked and immobilised without damage, But the thief had the keys, The downside it took 3 weeks before the police released it to a dealer...
