Re: Dexos 1 Generation 2 Oil for Turbo 1.4 Astra K

I just contacted Opie oils who were advertising a 6litre package of Mobil 1 0w40.i gave them the dexos 1 gen 2 spec. And they replied that this oil does not meet this spec.and they do not stock an oil that does.they are a fairly large supplier who I have found know their stuff but the answer surpri...

Re: CarPlay on iOS 12 - finally adding 3rd party navigation apps!

Sounds about right to be honest, that explains a whole lot more. CarPlay is a different story though, Apple have said they are opening it up to 3rd Party Navigation apps which should mean TomTom have the ability to add that compatibility for the iOS app but not for the Android app. In theory this i...

Re: New K Owner From Shropshire

Welcome, Ben! :) :) Always good to hear about another red SRi owner!! There have been some discussions on here as to whether you can have 'back compatibility' with Android Auto (AA) and the costs of having it installed. My particular car was registered a couple of months after yours and I certainly ...

Re: CarPlay on iOS 12 - finally adding 3rd party navigation apps!

Just been reading about it on the TomTom forums and apparently they can't make it compatible for Android Auto for the same reason as it couldn't for CarPlay. Google are supposedly not allowing 3rd Party navigation apps on it's platform but I thought Waze is already compatible on it? Then again this...

Welcome, Anthony!

Yep, I imagine you do notice the difference between the 'H' and the 'K'!

Anyway, enjoy your car and don't forget to post some pictures when you get the opportunity :) :)

Re: CarPlay on iOS 12 - finally adding 3rd party navigation apps!

It's about time Apple allowed this, I wonder if TomTom will look to make their TomTom Go app Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible? Screenshot_1.png If only! Although I have a separate TomTom navigation device (GO5000), I also have their app via Android because the 'phone screen is smaller and ...

"Here" maps software is great. :) But the Navi900 unit has the same navigation system (HERE) anyways, so that rendered AA pointless for me.
Yep, understand where you're coming from... :) :)

Re: Pull me over red 1.6t

Totally agree with previous post!

Took me a while to get used to my power red, having had a deep sky Astra J before, but now I wouldn't have anything else.

Yep, the bi-colours are good too, until you damage them, that is!

Anyway, nice pic, thanks for posting

Welcome, Neil!

Lava red is a great colour. I used to have a 1.7CDTi Astra 'J' before I acquired my 'K'.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your new Elite Nav when you take delivery....

Re: Soon to be SRI nav 1.6t owner

Cheers. I went to my limit in buying the car so if it has Bridgestones they will have to stay for a while until I repair my bank balance. All going well on my first day with the car. The sport button is a demon! Just cant seem to get On-star activated at the moment despite them telling me its been ...
