Can't believe it happened again.....

A year ago, I took my car in for its two year service and I noticed that the garage - a Vauxhall dealer - had put in Dexos 2 oil even though they now specified Dexos 1 Gen 2 for the 1600. OK, I thought, the directive was fairly recent at that time, but I got them to check and re-check and, in the en...

Re: Astra 1.6T Elite Nav

Welcome to the forum, Hammy! Hi Mine is 3 years old now, still love it. I have had the same occasional electronic brake problem, maybe 5 or 6 times in the 18k miles I have now completed. Asked again to check it out when serviced a few weeks ago, no problem or error codes found. Just a small niggle i...

Re: Android Auto not working at all

I have never been asked if I want to switch from Bluetooth. My process is:- 1) Make sure WiFi and GPS are active on my S5. Bluetooth is inactive at this point. 2) Plug phone into USB socket in armrest. 3) Start car 4) once wifi signal picked up by phone the projection symbol on the infotainment scr...

Re: Android Auto not working at all

Thinking about it, I did have the consistently blank screen until the dealer upgraded the software (at the same time denying it should be necessary!). AA used to project, but when I selected the map option (be it Google or Waze), the system simply froze and I just got a blank / black screen. Selecti...

Re: Android Auto not working at all

My Android Auto (AA) was incredibly unreliable, until I had an update at the car's second service (even though they said I didn't need the update!) and I replaced my sh*te Experia with, first of all, a Huawei P10+ and then, recently, with a P20 Pro. Both of these 'phones work well with AA connected ...

Re: Vauxhall Exclusive

Always hankered after a metallic red, as first appears on the configurator. The one available to Renault customers is very nice and something which Vauxhall should have included for the Astra, imo.

I still think the Deep Sky metallic, which I had on my Astra 'J', takes a lot of beating.....

Re: New poster; Missing Parking Sensor

Welcome to the forum! Ripping out parking sensors isn't something I've had experience of (!), but I should have thought it very unlikely that they could have been removed without some visible signs of tampering. However, if the looms are damaged, then I can't think of any other possibility. If you h...

Re: Mods

Looks amazing!

Do you mind my asking how much you've spent on all this so far? Just a rough idea. Cheers!
