Re: flash drive via usb for tunes?

Yeah, using a flash drive is fine. I used to do that, before I got Spotify.

You can put films.mp4 on there too, and it'll play them ONLY with handbrake up. Looks good, but obviously limited.

VIN: Astra Production Origin

Curious,

My '66' Reg Astra SRi Nav CDTI is built in Germany according to VIN, but obviously its right-hand drive, and its VX.

I'm sure when they first released the Astra, they were saying how it was built in Luton. I was just curious how many VX Astras were actually built in the UK!?

Re: Brake Life

I have changed my front and rear brake pads and discs at 50k! However, I do a lot of motorway driving. I was really happy with it. VX did say I still had life on rears, but I got them changed anyway. I had the service plan so couldn't tell you how much it cost individually. But yes, as above, you'll...

Re: Turanza T001 tyres are very much improved

I couldn't wait to get rid of my Turanzas. As soon as I could I replaced all 4. I agree they were shocking in the wet and terrible road noise.

I got Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric reinforced. I thought these had much better grip in dry and wet and road noise is sooo much better.

Re: New to Vauxhalls

Hi all. Just bought my very first Vauxhall. A 65 plate SRi 1.6 cdti Astra K in red with 27,000 miles on the clock. Really happy with it. 18" alloys. Went from Carlisle to Haweswater in the Lake District and back today and got 68 mpg. Sadly no owners handbook or service record with the car but I hav...

Re: Tuning

Yeah, I know what you are saying regarding turbos. I mean TDI tuning for instance do sell more of an 'MPG based' tuning. They just offered me the 'Performance Package' and I agree, the fuel saving of 5% is probably a sales tactic. Interesting to learn your country's car is based on MPG. You may kno...

Re: Tuning

Offcourse you will be moving closer to the line of what the turbo and indeed the rest of the engine can handle. More HP will always mean that they raise the turbo pressure. I have the 110, and the only difference as far as i have read is that the 136 has a bigger turbo so even if i get a remap that...

Re: Tuning

I also have the 136 Diesel. I looked at TDI Tuning and they could increase Hp to 178. And Nm by 40+ also for £300. (Not sure on MPG increase I think they said 5% gain with the performance package. Other packages are available). I was thinking about getting the Remap, but then I compared my Astra wit...

Re: Astra K - Positives!

The K uses a combination of Hough transform and Canny edge detection to detect the lane lines, in most cases the black tar and white lines look identical when the images are processed. It's a Bosch system too, used in many cars. It's not specific to the Astra as an F Pace I also drive has the same ...
