Never had an issue with my 2016 1.4T with this issue
That’s a basic switch though, will it be the same as yours, possibly, if you’re confident pull it apart and inspect it.

The fact gm are offering 80% contribution, to me is in itself admittance they had generic known problems with the MY16 and 17 1.4T LE engines. They have no room to worm their way out of it, as you have got full service history, thank God. In America they are sueing them under the lemon law in some ...

Looks like air conditioning oil to me, which would indicate a system leak / o-ring failure, coolant usually has a smell to it that you’ll recognise. If it’s a heater core issue, most likely dash out job to fix, if it’s an aircon system leak maybe less expensive Oily usually indicates refrigerant lea...
